About The Shades of Oak
The Shades of Oak is the perfect place to get away from it all. Whether you're from the city or a small town, our vactaion house is ideal for escaping from the hustle and bustle of every day life and experiencing the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can use the house as a base from which to explore our wonderful corner of Virginia, a place to spend quiet time reading or writing or just simply put your feet up and do nothing.
Modern Simplicity
The Shades of oak features three bedrooms with linens: The master bedroom holds a full-sized bed, the second bedroom has two twin beds while the third bedroom offers a single twin bed. There are two baths with linens, a hair dryer and paper. Also available is a laundry room with a washer, dryer, iron and ironing board. There is a full kitchen with paper products - plates and napkins - coffe cups, plastic dinnerware, coffee maker, freshly ground coffee, condiments and a microwave. You are, of course, free to provide your own place settings and dinnerware if you like.
Bring your favourite toiletries, laundry detergent, drinks, dinners and snacks as well as any other necessities for a relaxing stay in the mountains. Water is supplied from our own well.
The Shades of Oak has a Maximum occupancy of 3 adults over 25 years of age or two adults over 25 and two children. The maximum stay at the Shades of Oak is two weeks. Check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out time is no later than 11:00 AM so that we may prepare the house for the next visitors.
The Shades of Oak may be had for $70.00 per day plus the Nelson County tax of 5 %. There is a Smoke-Free policy in the house. The Shades of Oak does not allow pets or loud music. Vehicles other than that of the renter will be considered as trespassing.
